ASSESSMENT ON THE CONTROL OF CORONAVIRIS COVID-19


Covid-19 is a new illness that can affect your lungs and airways. It is caused by a virus called Coronavirus. Symptoms can be mild, moderate or fatal.

  • Staff
  • Customers
  • Cleaners
  • Contractors
  • Drivers
  • Vulnerable groups- Elderly, Pregnant workers
  • Anyone with underlying health conditions
  • Anyone who comes into physical contact with us in relation to our business

Controls required

Hand Washing

Wash hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, dry using disposable paper towel. Use towel to turn off tap.

Cleaning

Frequent cleaning and disinfecting objects and surfaces that are touched regularly particularly in areas of high use such as door handles, light switches, reception areas, using appropriate cleaning products and methods.

Social Distancing

Take steps to ensure the recommended 2m gap is maintained, see the specific Covid-19 plan of work for each role. Included in the Covid-19 plan of work will be details of groups of staff to use specific washroom facilities.

PPE

Face masks must be worn by visitors to our shops, showrooms and offices. Face Masks must be worn by staff working in areas other than their normal workstation.

Symptoms of Covid-19

If anyone becomes unwell with a new continuous cough or a high temperature in the workplace, they will be sent home and advised to follow the stay at home guidance. The Company will stay in regular contact during this time and If advised that a member of staff or Public has tested positive for Covid-19 and was recently on our premises the management will contact the Public Health Authority to take advise on what action should be taken.

Drivers

Guidance and details of controls for drivers will be detailed in their specific Covid-19 plan of work.

Mental Health

Management will promote mental health & wellbeing awareness to staff during the Coronavirus outbreak and will offer whatever support they can to help.

Additional controls required

  • Employees reminded regularly to wash their hands for 20 seconds with soap andwater and the importance of proper drying with disposable towels. Also to catch coughs and sneezes in tissues and bin them.
  • Checks to be carried out by Directors, and branch managers on a daily basis.
  • Staff to be reminded daily of the importance of social distancing.
  • Customers and visitors to be asked to comply with the 2m gap at all times while on site or engaging with our staff or other customers/visitors.
